About Us
Children and Youth Orchestra Program
Our team
Our flagship program launched in Orlando, Florida in 2023, beginning with 30 young artists and growing to support over 130 children and youth ages 3–17; in May 2024, we expanded to Houston, Texas, where TNO-TX now serves more than 50 students ages 4–17, and today our programs in Florida and Texas continue to grow thanks to strong community support and an increasing demand for music education.
History
The Nucleus Orchestra was founded in 2023 by four musicians from Venezuela: Benito Liendo, Enn Rene Diaz, Eukaris Anaholi, and Katherine Rivas. Our founders each have between 10 and 30 years of experiences as musicians in orchestras, solo performers, and teaching artists. They were all members of Venezuela’s National Orchestras and Choirs.
The organization was founded to advance the social and cultural development of new generations through music education. TNO’s programs leverage music as a tool to inspire and empower youth, with a particular emphasis on social inclusion and support for the Latino community. Additionally, the program aims to enrich communities by offering accessible educational initiatives, hosting benefit concerts, and fostering collaborations that promote cultural and social flourishing.
The organization’s flagship program launched in Orlando, FL in 2023 and served 30 youth at its outset. Now, the program serves 130 youth ages 3-17. In May 2024, we launched a program in Houston, TX, which currently serves 25 youth ages 4-14. Both programs continue to grow thanks to an enthusiastic reception from the community and a growing demand for music education.
Our Vision
Our vision is to foster an environment where music bridges differences, empowers individuals, and promotes social inclusion. We aim to unlock a universe of possibilities for those we serve, enhancing the cultural, social, and educational vibrancy of our communities, with a particular emphasis on those facing economic challenges.
Benefits
The Nucleus Orchestral Program offers high-quality music education that not only develops the artistic talent of young people but also fosters essential skills such as discipline, responsibility, and teamwork.
Music education also improves their academic performance and develops leadership skills, preparing them to be future leaders committed to their community. Through music, The Nucleus Orchestral Program creates a unique opportunity to empower young people, enrich local culture, and contribute to collective well-being.
What We Do
We offer after-school music programs to youth in underserved communities in Orlando and Houston. Our classes include piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, french horn, percussion, and choir.
What do we believe?
We believe orchestral music fosters children’s growth by teaching teamwork, discipline, and communication. Each rehearsal builds self-confidence and nurtures not just musicians, but engaged citizens ready to contribute to their community.
